Modular Medical Facility - Gambia, Africa
Transformodular was instrumental in the fabrication, documentation, and deployment of a modular medical facility in The Gambia, Africa.
The modules were based on standard 8 foot by 20 foot ISO intermodal shipping containers, which are then manually expanded into approximately 400 square foot medical facilities upon deployment.
This deployment consisted of two (2) modules connected by a vestibule (procedure wash and prep area). One module was a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and one was an Operating Room (OR).
These modules were designed to serve the critical dual-purpose of enabling everyday community-based care to underserved and under-resourced populations and being rapidly redeployed for emergency use.
